It is time to take my passion and knowledge for orchids and spread it all to you.
My name is Krista and I have struggled for many years to find my niche or special hobby that I have been able to stick with for an extended period of time and actually be extremely passionate about it.
I confess, after receiving my first orchid plant, I have become a straight-up orchid junkie and can talk about these plants all day regardless of the individual I am speaking to.
It all started 5 years ago when I was given an orchid as a gift. I had no clue that caring for orchids would become such a huge, relaxing part of my life.
I have spent countless hours just staring at my orchids, looking to see for something new that may be growing, looking for things that need to be improved, or just admiring their beauty.
My love for orchids has been a love/hate relationship. The first few plants I was obsessed with but for some reason they kept dying on me. I had no clue why, as I was treating these like I did any other house plant.
First mistake.
I didn’t know that orchids were so particular in how they should be treated. It isn’t enough to just water them with as little or as much water as you want and be okay. You can’t just leave these plants in any kind of lighting. All knowledge I did not know thus causing all my beautiful plants to die, leaving me upset still to this day because I did not properly research these plants.
Now after all these years and through all the frustration and learning from mistakes, I am confident enough to share my knowledge about these truly beautiful, exotic plants with orchid lovers alike!
I currently have a 6 thriving orchids, some of which have been blooming and flourishing over the last few years and some that still could have things improved upon.
I hope the experiences, knowledge and stories I have had with these plants help you in learning everything you need to know about orchids to produce long lasting, thriving, beautiful plants!
I am exciting to not only continue learning more about all the different types of orchids and their ways, but I am excited to share this knowledge here on EverythingOrchid.com to those curious and brave enough to take on the exotic ways of the Orchid!
